A New SEO Blog - TheSEOBlogger.com

Recently, I’ve realized that I have fallen into the rambling habit again, ranting about things that are NOT so related to “make money online.” And, yes, I’ve realized also that most of these rambling were on SEO stuffs, which has pretty much nothing to do with making money online

So, guess what! I have just registered a brand NEW domain–theSEOblogger.com–just so I can ramble all I want on SEO =P.

Anyway, here’s a little scoop of what the site, “The SEO Blogger” will be about:

-SEO Tips
-SEO Techniques
-SEO Tutorials
…………………..Hahaha…sound familiar doesn’t it? Well, it was modeled after this blog after all  .

By the way, that’s not all the categories. They are just 1/10 of all the categories I have set up  . There are so many grounds to cover.

O.K. That’s it for my rambling on SEO ’stuffs’.

From now on, I promise to FOCUS ‘more’ on posts about ‘make money online‘.

If you're new here, you can subscribe to my blog's full RSS feeds to read the latest posts at the convenience of Google Reader or other feed readers. See it for yourself, just click this link :).

The MAKE MONEY ONLINE Blog’s Search Engine Pages Report

LOL. I just started this blog, The MAKE MONEY ONLINE Blog, 1-2 weeks ago. In the beginning, my this blog was in the Google, Yahoo! & MSN sandboxes =P. With virtually no links to this blog and hardly any page indexed.

NOW–this blog is running with bots, search engine bots that is ;). I think I’m out of these search engines’ quick sands  . Anyway, currently I have 945 pages indexed in Google–BUT–the problem is, I haven’t post that many =P.

Well, after checking out what pages got indexed, it turns out that the indexed pages were OLD pages from different URI addresses on this domain, and many pages were duplicates of each other! Argg…I know if I have more pages index, the chance of people finding me via the search engines would increase, but I like things nice & clean–I’d like those duplicated pages/none-existing pages “de-indexed” and the new ones index =P.

Hehehe, yeah, that’s the first time you probably heard anyone want their ‘public’ pages to get “de-indexed” huh? You might think it’s crazy, but having too many ‘dead/dups’ pages in the index might label me as a spammer. You’d thought that the search engine would be smart enough to clean up after my mess huh? Well, ‘eventually’ they will, or else it wouldn’t be ‘relevant’ to their customers/searchers to search for one of my site dead page  .

Anyway, here’s a little more detail of The MAKE MONEY ONLINE Blog search engine report:

Google Index: 945 pages (Man, I need those dups pages & none-existing URI out of the index)
Yahoo Index: 186 pages (A day or two ago, it was like 23-27 pages indexed, but now…186 pages!)
MSN Index: 20 pages (Still, not trusting me, eh, MSN :?: )
Technorati: 31 (Before it was ZERO!)
Yahoo! Linked Domains: 266–WOW! Jump from 23 to 100 to 170…then to 266 => almost 100 links in one day  .

Yeah, I know 266 links isn’t that much but this blog is fairly new and I’ve NOT carried out most of the marketing stuffs that I said I plan to do =P. I’ve only submitted The MAKE MONEY ONLINE Blog to some of the RSS feed directories.

This has been The MAKE MONEY ONLINE Blog Search Engine Report. Hope you enjoy the report  .

Please leave me a comment or two–whether you’d like more of these reports or not. Thanks.

WordPress Plugin for a Better Blog and SEO

If you haven’t notice them yet, I ‘used’ to have a social bookmarking list of icons at the bottom of each post, using the “Sociable” WordPress plugin. They appear after “Bookmark It and Enjoy:”.

Well, after some SEO investigations, I found that these counts as a total of 49 out-going links from my site, which is rather bad for search engine optimization (SEO). Plus, the other thing is that each of the icon associated with the social bookmarking site has an image .gif property, the loading time of this site also increase due to the increased Kb size from the images.

So, after looking for some alternative, I think I’ve found one of the WordPress plugins that does the same thing as “Sociable.” Hehehe, actually I have this WordPress plugin, “Share This,” all along but haven’t use it. So, I’ll probably use “Share This” in the future as there’s only ONE image icon that expands into many social bookmarking sites.

This will hopefully help decrease the Kb of The MAKE MONEY ONLINE Blog home page and, thereby, decrease the loading time for visitors. This is to prepare for the future, when I get massive traffic  .

Hope, The MAKE MONEY ONLINE Blog doesn’t break by then  . (Basically, just imagine MILLIONS of people–can’t I hope to be millions–downloading this blog’s heavy page for one second….but then again, I’m think too far ahead :).

Anyway, since the name of this WordPress plugin is “Share This,” I guess I’ll share it with you all =P. So, here is the link for more information on “Share This”: http://alexking.org/blog/2006/11/17/share-this-11

Edit: Hehehe, there’s even a “No Follow” attribute in the “Share This” link. LOL. Alex must know what he’s doing for SEO. Kudos, you’re good Alex. BTW–by using this plugin, my out-bound link was cut from 73 to 28! That’s one heck of an SEO cut, for you  .

Anyhow, about the plan for The MAKE MONEY ONLINE Blog, here’s a quick list of what WILL be done:

1. Enter a review contest for a chance for this blog make-over. Yep, from my understanding, it’s need a little dressing up  . I’ll probably write more of how the blog that I’ll be reviewed can improve rather than anything else =P.
2. Setting up and getting ready to do some marketing to this blog. FULL BLAST–probably after the make-over of this blog.

Some details on what I’ll do for marketing this blog (heheh, no contest yet, but it’s coming–a really good one at that :)

1. Submit articles to articles directory and link back to The MAKE MONEY ONLINE Blog. Well, I’ll have to sign up first, though–actually for more article directories.
2. Submit the RSS feed of The MAKE MONEY ONLINE Blog to RSS feed Directory.
3. Submit The MAKE MONEY ONLINE Blog to the blog directories.
4. Submit The MAKE MONEY ONLINE Blog to social bookmarking site/pinging.
5. OMG! I have a lot to do :???: !

Anyway, I’ll keep you posted on how this go ;).

O.K. Got to go…to sleep…

Some Information on Ebay

eBay in Its First 10-12 Years

Yes, you read that correctly: ten-twelve years. eBay was created in September 1995, by a man called Pierre Omidyar, who was living in San Jose. He wanted his site - then called ‘AuctionWeb’ - to be an online marketplace, and wrote the first code for it in one weekend. It was one of the first websites of its kind in the world. The name ‘eBay’ comes from the domain Omidyar used for his site. His company’s name was Echo Bay, and the ‘eBay AuctionWeb’ was originally just one part of Echo Bay’s website at ebay.com. The first thing ever sold on the site was Omidyar’s broken laser pointer, which he got $14 for.

The site quickly became massively popular, as sellers came to list all sorts of odd things and buyers actually bought them. Relying on trust seemed to work remarkably well, and meant that the site could almost be left alone to run itself. The site had been designed from the start to collect a small fee on each sale, and it was this money that Omidyar used to pay for AuctionWeb’s expansion. The fees quickly added up to more than his current salary, and so he decided to quit his job and work on the site full-time. It was at this point, in 1996, that he added the feedback facilities, to let buyers and sellers rate each other and make buying and selling safer.

In 1997, Omidyar changed AuctionWeb’s - and his company’s - name to ‘eBay’, which is what people had been calling the site for a long time. He began to spend a lot of money on advertising, and had the eBay logo designed. It was in this year that the one-millionth item was sold (it was a toy version of Big Bird from Sesame Street).

Then, in 1998 - the peak of the dotcom boom - eBay became big business, and the investment in Internet businesses at the time allowed it to bring in senior managers and business strategists, who took in public on the stock market. It started to encourage people to sell more than just collectibles, and quickly became a massive site where you could sell anything, large or small. Unlike other sites, though, eBay survived the end of the boom, and is still going strong today.

1999 saw eBay go worldwide, launching sites in the UK, Australia and Germany. eBay bought half.com, an Amazon-like online retailer, in the year 2000 - the same year it introduced Buy it Now - and bought PayPal, an online payment service, in 2002.

Pierre Omidyar has now earned an estimated $3 billion from eBay, and still serves as Chairman of the Board. Oddly enough, he keeps a personal weblog at http://pierre.typepad.com. There are now literally millions of items bought and sold every day on eBay, all over the world. For every $100 spent online worldwide, it is estimated that $14 is spent on eBay - that’s a lot of laser pointers.

Now that you know the history of eBay, perhaps you’d like to know how it could work for you? My next ‘future’ posts will give you an idea of the possibilities. So, start signing for an ebay account today–if you don’t have one yet: www.ebay.com (sorry, I’m not an eBay affiliate :).
