Face-To-Face Selling & Selling Tips

AFRAID OF FACE-TO-FACE SELLING OR JUST SELLING IN GENERAL?

What is the best way to get over the fear of meeting with people face-to-face and selling to them? To borrow a famous slogan, “Just do it.” That is the only way I’ve found to get over the initial fear of selling. Here is a little trick I learned from a great salesman many years ago. He told me, “M.T., just start selling anything.” “Pick an item to sell and go out selling it.” “Don’t do it for the money, do it for the self training you will get.” In other words he was saying for me to get a calculator, an ink pen, or just anything and approach people to sell it to them. I did and it and it worked!

I used the same method on eBay many years ago. I wanted to sell things on eBay but I was nervous about putting up my products and just going through the whole eBay thing. I remembered what that salesman told me so I decided to just sell something. I went to the local discount stationary store and bought a dozen cheep pens. I put them up on eBay as a set of 1 dozen pens. They sold, I made about a dollar, but that first positive feedback on eBay got me over the fear of selling on eBay and I’ve sold things on eBay ever since. Why the eBay and selling story? Well, with your online business NOTHING will happen until you make that first sale. So just do it. Go out and make that first sale and get the ball rolling!

Well there you have it. A very legitimate way to make your first money on the Internet. Go for it! You don’t need much income opportunities to fund just about any Internet endeavor you can come up with. And don’t just work for money. If you need something never be shy about asking a business owner to barter for your services. I mentioned bartering for business cards earlier. I mentioned it because I actually did it. I’ve traded ads and websites for several meals at nice restaurants in town (I really do work for food). The Computer I composed these “Make Money Online Tips” was traded for just one website I created and this baby is no piece of junk. It’s a Toshiba Satellite laptop that is by far the best computer I’ve ever owned. The list goes on so don’t be afraid to ask for what you need from your business contacts. In my opinion the best way to do this is to first offer to provide your services for money. If you find a business person who you can tell, really wants a website but for one reason or another is hesitant about paying for one, then ask to barter for whatever he has that you want.
